NPU News Network reported on Dec. 15---- Mr. Pascal Brochet, President of University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard (UTBM)visited Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) on Dec. 15. President Jiang Chengyu and Vice President Wang Wei welcomed UTBM delegation. Sun Yu, Deputy Director of Office of International Affairs, Zhang Weihong, Dean of School of Science, Prof. Dou Manhong of School of Automation attended the welcome meeting.
President Jiang extended warm welcome to President Pascal Brochet and his delegates and reviewed the cooperation between both universities. He spoke highly of UTBM’s endeavor in assisting NPU in student cultivation and faculty construction. Jiang also said that more excellent PhD candidates and young teachers of NPU will be selected for the exchange programs with UTBM, and UTBM students are welcome to take degree courses at NPU in the meantime. In the end, President Jiang said that the visit paid by his counterpart, President Pascal Brochet, will deepen and diversify the cooperation between two universities.
President Pascal Brochet also expressed his thanks for Jiang’s warm welcome. “NPU is a high-level university with distinguished disciplines and rigorous academic attitude. We are delighted to welcome more excellent students and teachers to UTBM for exchange and study.” Brochet particularly emphasized on the desires of deepening cooperation in scientific researches and hoped this will form a strong basis for launching visiting and exchange programs between two universities.

It was formed from the merger of two universities: the Engineering University of Belfort (l'Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Belfort founded in 1962) and the Polytechnic Institute of Sevenans (l'Institut Polytechnique de Sévenans - founded in Sévenans in 1985).
